Tavira Street Scene is a fine art Giclée print reproduced from an original watercolour by British artist Susan Horsfield.

The composition captures the character of Tavira through an arrangement of palms, buildings and small figures moving through the street. Susan does not describe the scene with architectural precision; instead, she responds to the particular rhythm of the place through colour, line and freely handled washes.

Turquoise, green, yellow and vivid red animate the façades and foliage, while darker drawn marks give structure to the scene. The palms rise through the composition, creating a strong sense of movement and framing glimpses of the buildings beyond.

Susan’s watercolour retains the immediacy of direct observation. Some passages are lightly suggested, while others are more emphatic, allowing the eye to move between architecture, vegetation and everyday activity without the scene becoming overly formal.

The result is a lively and atmospheric record of place — recognisably Mediterranean, yet unmistakably personal in its handling and observation.
